Political Scandal Over Forged Signatures in CDMX

The parliamentary group of the PAN in the Congress of Mexico City has filed a complaint against Salvador Rafael Munguía Pérez for alleged forgery of a recommendation signature. This action has generated concern in some sectors of Morena, as Munguía Pérez was being considered to join the evaluation committee of the Planning Institute of the capital.

According to deputy Olivia Garza, this situation represents "a deception to Congress and all the inhabitants of the City." In light of this scenario, the PAN has called for a new selection process for the person who would occupy the position that Munguía Pérez was aspiring to.

The coordinator of the PAN in the local Congress, Andrés Atayde, expressed that it is essential for the designation process at the Planning Institute to follow a correct course, as it currently does not have the support desired by various sectors of society in Mexico City.

The evaluation committee was created in January with the aim of selecting candidates to lead the Planning Institute, which has been vacant for nearly two years. The PAN has emphasized the importance of setting a precedent and ensuring that any attempt at deception has consequences.

In this context, the deputy from Iztapalapa mentioned that Munguía Pérez would have committed the crime of forgery by presenting a false signature, despite having sworn to tell the truth upon assuming the position. Currently, the case is in the hands of the Prosecutor's Office to determine the guilt of the accused.

The PAN has highlighted the need for this situation to be resolved appropriately, avoiding unjustified protections from Morena for individuals who do not meet the necessary requirements to hold important positions in the administration of Mexico City.
